A pray of life by Deon Crafford

1 Thess 5:16-22 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.

Pray without ceasing. Paul cannot say it simpler or stronger than what he does here. If we have direct access to the Almighty God, the Creator of all, the Beginning and the End, why would we not want to live in constant engagement with Him? Why would one want to miss such an opportunity or devalue such a great gift? Only pure stupidity or worldly blindness would have such an outcome. Culture is a collective word for prevailing or repeating behaviours – the way things are done in a particular context. Where Christians are gathered one would hardly expect anything different than a culture of prayer, and yet this is not always so prevalent. If those that confess to be Christians are not constantly praying and submitting all things to God in intimate conversation, faith becomes questionable. The best way to describe it is to live like God is an ever present companion; which will ignite constant engagement. When I get that right, I feel that life is within my control. If I fail, I quickly fall into anxiety and stupid human fumbling. Pray without ceasing.

Love to all
