A new temple by Deon Crafford

Ezekiel 10:19-19 Then the glory of the Lord went out from the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim. And the cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth before my eyes as they went out, with the wheels beside them. And they stood at the entrance of the east gate of the house of the Lord, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them.

It is fair to say that the final sequence of events that brings Jesus to the Cross, commences with his “triumphant” entry into Jerusalem. Triumphant is ironic in this context because it was so temporary and based on such wrong expectations. Soon the welcomers would join the condemners and the hosanna’s would be forgotten. But for the believer, this is not a temporary act. Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem is not a false start, so to speak. It marks the return of God’s glory to a temple, which due to the abhorrent sin of His people, He once withdrew and replaced with the dead bodies of those who dishonoured Him. This time though the temple is different. I am the temple to which God’s glory returns through Jesus Christ. I am whom He desires to make His personal abode. I am whom He purifies and prepares for residence. I am where He seeks to be honoured. I am where His love will reign.

Love to all
