Go to grow by Deon Crafford
Luke 24:46-48 Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.
One of the greatest turnabouts in the Word of God are these twelve apostles who in a short space of time go from struck down and destroyed to energized and empowered. What possibly could have caused this, other than them encountering the living Christ? What would make those who fled from Jesus’ side and who denied Him, voluntarily sacrifice themselves in bringing the gospel to the known world. What immense spiritual growth did they experience through stepping out as commissioned by Christ. Peter who denied Jesus three times, now appearing before the Jewish Council and telling them that he cannot acquiesce to their demands of keeping silent about the risen Christ. If you go, you will grow. This is something we constantly manage as parents with our children – until we let them go they may be hampered in their growth. If we don’t communicate and live the Gospel of Christ, as commissioned, the world loses out and so do we. We remain on milk and not solid foods. We seek Christ just for our own gain and we remain small. He calls us to growth and deep impact in our worlds.
Love to all
