It’s open by Deon Crafford

Revelations 3:7-8 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. 8 “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

I am convinced that if you have a personal relationship with God you know that He opens and shuts doors for us all the time. Sometimes we were not ready for the doors he opened or shut, but in hindsight we affirm His wisdom and grace over us. When God commends the Philadelphian church for their commitment and perseverance, he does not leave them there. He then sets before them an open door – He again creates an opportunity for growth, service, impact, obedience. A door is only meaningful if someone or something goes through it. Jesus opens doors to the outside, to the uncomfortable and the unknown – that is where growth in our faith can thrive. We stagnate or die spiritually in comfort zones. There is an open door in front of all of us. Once we stop trying to pry open the doors God shuts then we’re faced with what He opens. This morning, do you see and recognise the open door He sets before you?

Love to all
