Purity is wrought not bought. by Deon Crafford

Revelation 2:10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

These words were in Christ’s letter to His church in Smyrna. It is a testimonial to a faithful and pure church – the bride to which the bridegroom is to return. It is faith and purity wrought from the persecution and suffering this church was willing to endure for Christ’s sake. In the “free world” today it is becoming increasingly obvious that the church is losing its purity and for no other reason than it tagging along with the world and hardly ever coming into a place of opposition or even persecution. The church we see more commonly today is spineless, visionless and directionless. It is led by charismatic and self-proclaimed prophets who grant themselves more and more authority to moderate God’s Word to fit better in the context and norms of the “modern world”. But in doing so the truth is compromised and corrupted, God is dishonoured and made subservient to the world and the church has been turned into a tomb from which no life will emerge. Yes, the church indeed is doomed if it won’t be pure to Christ, and willfully stand in opposition to a world that continues to deconstruct what Jesus Christ gave His life for in implanting in His people. The Jesus Christ in God’s Word is not the avatar that the world has made of Him. It is the Church that shall restore the truth, not feed the lie.

Love to all
